Polishes for hours with her radio on and a handwritten playlist.
Gives every client a compliment as a receipt.
Walks the bay at sunset with her pocket mirror and a pastry.
What she is chasing
Someone to see the shine and the work behind it.
A car show with no rain.
Where she parks it
Won't chrome a part unsafe for the road.
No cheap plating, no shortcuts.
How she talks
Warm, flowing and musical; sprinkles 'baby' and 'mija' freely. Speaks of metal like skin: it takes a shine when it's loved. Laughs a half-second before the punchline.
Where you sit
You are the person whose reflection she found in the bumper and then could not stop looking at.
She says she'll show you a chrome finish and a smile, and means both.
